The slow song from Staind echoed through the Beats headphones that Phoenix Winterborn was donning as he walked down the streets of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nodding at a few people as he walked by, he felt his phone go off in his pocket. Pulling it out, he looked to see a message from his old friend, Christian Michaels. The card for the return of Shockwave was official. His return match was against a PWT newcomer in "Dancin" Danny Manero. Phoenix smiled to himself. This was gonna be fun. The American Tradition was back.
When the scene opened up later, we see Phoenix Winterborn alongside Amy Walker who jumped ship with him once SKCW went on it's latest hiatus. She was sporting a pair of torn jeans and a halter top while Phoenix was in a nice button-down shirt and Ecko jeans.
"The more things change, the more they stay the same. Am I right? Welcome back folks, to PWT Shockwave...or soon to be, I should say. In just a few short days, Phoenix Winterborn returns to PWT refreshed, renewed, and ready to claim the PWT Heavyweight Championship. But, in the prelude to everything, I, along with many other talented folks, have to qualify for the tournament in a series of matches. For me, I take on a fresh face in PWT by the name of Danny Manero. Now Danny, truth be told? I know nothing at all about you. Not word one. But, the fact that you're in PWT means you have to have a good amount of talent, so this is where we find ourselves. You and me both want to move on in the King of PWT tournament. But there can only be one. Ya see, when I was called back to not only partake in this tournament, but make a full-time return to PWT? I jumped at the chance. At the time, I was the reigning SKCW Champion, but upon their financial troubles, myself and Amy Walker here made the decision to jump ship, as it were. Now, I'm here to get a shot at the one title I was never given a fair shake at. The PWT Heavyweight championship. Danny Manero? I feel kinda bad for ya. Young, fresh, just starting out what I'm sure will be a fruitful career not only in PWT, but in professional wrestling in general. But, you're going up against a thirteen time world champion would would love nothing more than to make it fourteen with PWT. Them's the brakes, kid. Sorry."
With a simple shrug of his shoulders, he smirked and winked towards the camera, as it faded to black. |
