[ After we see the arrival of Heavyweight champion MJ Storm, its back to ringside.
Sabrina: "The following contest is a Last Man Standing Steel Cage Match for the PWT People’s Title. Introducing first, the challenger…"
[ The PWT crowd is loud, like always. The lights dim down low, almost into complete darkness. The PA system comes to life, but not with the sounds of an entrance theme, but a voice.
Voice: "Ladies and gentlmen. It's time to take it to a whole new level. Forget what you've been taught. It's time for your re-education."
[ Then there is a loud bang of guitar as the lights complete shut off. Lights begin to flash over the crowd as the camera looks through them, ala Edge and Christian's old entrance. The PA system begins to blare "Get Your Handz Off" by Jin. The camera settles underneath the PWT video screen, focused on the curtain. The curtain is pushed back as golden sparks begin to fall from the sky ala Goldberg mixed with Orton. The crowd begins to cheer as a figure walks through the shower of Golden sparks. Standing on the PWT stage is a very impressive individual. It is David Van Dam himself. He has on a sleeveless robe with 'David Van Dam' written on the back. The man begins to come down the aisle.
Sabrina: "Making his way down the ring aisle, from The Top of the Card, referes to himself as the greatest living professional wrestler, he weighs in tonight at 230 pounds, this...is...The Main Event, DAVID...VAN...DAM..."
[ David Van Dam stops and stares at the ring. He smirks as he begins to climb the steel steps, walking down the ring apron, he stops mid apron and wipes his feet on it, before stepping between the ropes to enter the ring. He slowly removes his ring jacket and hands it to a ring hand before pulling on the top rope to stretch himself out.
Sabrina: "And the People’s Champion, from New York City, weighing in tonight at 220 pounds, JAMAL ATKINS!"
[The lights in the arena begin to flickers as Jamal Atkins music begins to play. The fan explode with booing. He then comes out flipping everyone off as he just walks down the ramp and gets into the ring.. Jamal Atkins flips off everyone and then goes and stands near the corner looking up towards the entrance ramp. The referee takes the People’s Title from Atkins and hands it to a ring hand, before having the cage door closed and locked, locking Atkins and Van Dam in. They look across from each other. This is one of, if not the, most hyped match of the Pay Per View. Atkins versus Van Dam. People’s Title. Last Man Standing. Steel Cage… The bell rings, but neither man moves. They really aren’t in a hurry, there’s no time limit.
Bob Fecca: "Well Eddie, it’s time. Could it get any better than this? Man versus Man. Only one will be left standing. It’s going to be bloody, and it’s all for a title."
Eddie Styles: "I hope Atkins wins, Bob, I’m not going to lie. I want Atkins to prove to that pompous prick David Van Dam who the greatest People’s Champion in history is."
Bob Fecca: "The People’s title will be cemented as one of the best after tonight. These two aren’t going to leave anything back. I would not be surprised if one, if not both, of their careers end tonight. I know their careers will be forever changed."
[They stand toe to toe, almost eye to eye. Jamal is two inches taller than Van Dam, but Van Dam has ten pounds on Atkins, and not ten pounds of fat, ten pounds of muscle. Both gladiators are in prime condition, not an ounce of excess body fat. Neither man has swung a punch, neither has said a word. They just look at each other… The trash talk begins… Jamal reminds Van Dam why he is the People’s Champion, and Van Dam responds, telling Jamal just who the hell he is. Jamal responds with a hard right hand. Van Dam grabs at his jaw and shakes his head, before responding with his own. Another right from Jamal, a right from Van Dam. A right from Jamal, a right from Van Dam, and so the slug fest ensues. Punch after punch, each man taking a turn, before Van Dam begins to gain the upper hand. He sends Jamal reeling with right hand after right hand. Jamal hit’s the corner, and Van Dam begins to explode with closed fists.
Eddie Styles: "Come on! Closed fists are illegal."
Bob Fecca: "Not in this environment."
Eddie Styles: "If Van Dam was as good as he says, he wouldn’t need to use them… ever."
[Van Dam grabs Atkins by his arm and forcefully whips him across the ring into the opposite corner. Atkins collides spine first with the turnbuckles and comes stumbling out of the corner, right into the arms of Van Dam. Overhead Belly to Belly suplex sends Atkins across the ring. Van Dam is up, and pumping his arms, feeling it. He pulls Atkins up, and rocks him with a European Uppercut. Atkins stumbles, and Van Dam nails him with a second one. He holds Atkins by the head as nails him with a forearm to the side of the head, then a second one. He kicks Atkins in the gut and lifts him up, before falling back, dropping him with a suplex. He doesn’t release it, and rolls his hips, pulling Atkins back up. He lifts Atkins back up and holds him there, before bringing him back down with a brain buster.
Bob Fecca: "Van Dam looks to be in total control early on in this contest. If he keeps it up like this, this could be a short match."
[Van Dam’s up, and has pulled Atkins up. Hard European Uppercut, before lifting Atkins up and dropping him with a scoop slam. Van Dam climbs to the second rope, and jumps off, looking for a knee to the chest, but Atkins rolls out of the way. Van Dam lands knee first on the mat and rolls, clutching his left knee, which is already in poor shape from his years of wrestling. Atkins climbs to his feet, and smirks. He moves towards Van Dam, and kicks him hard… in the knee. A second kick. Van Dam howls in pain as Atkins pulls him up, bends his knee back, lifts him into the air, and just drops him onto the mat. Van Dam clutches his knee as he rolls away from Atkins.
Eddie Styles: "If Atkins keeps this up, Van Dam won’t be able to stand to answer a ten count."
Bob Fecca: "That’s a good point, Eddie."
[Atkins is grinning evilly, he knows all he’s got to do is tear DVD’s knee apart, and that’s exactly what he plans on doing. He grabs Van Dam’s leg and rests it on the bottom rope. Placing a boot over DVD’s ankle, Atkins puts his other leg on the middle rope. He bounces a few times to gain momentum, before coming crashing down on Van Dam’s knee. Van Dam screams in pain as Atkins pulls him up. Van Dam can’t even stand on his own two feet as Atkins hits him with a T-bone Suplex. DVD hit’s the mat, and just tries to roll away, but he finds himself by the door. Atkins approaches him, and demands the door be opened. Atkins climbs through the door and onto the ground.
Bob Fecca: "What does he have in mind?"
[Atkins pulls Van Dam’s left leg through the doorway. The crowd gasps, they know what’s coming as Atkins pulls the door back and then swings it forward, letting the steel slam into DVD’s knee.
Eddie Styles: "Brilliant! Jamal Atkins is destroying David Van Dam’s knee. Ha Ha! YES!"
[Van Dam grabs his knee, writing in pain as Atkins smirks sadistically. He moves near Sabrina and takes a steel chair, tossing it over the cage wall and into the ring. That’s not it though, he pulls a Triple H and pulls a sledge hammer out from next to her. He throws that into the ring as well, smiling as he walks back to the cage door and climbs in, shutting the door after him. Van Dam has crawled away from the door and is trying to pull himself back to his feet. Atkins smirks as he picks up the chair. He smiles before driving it right into DVD’s knee, sending him back down. He slams the chair into DVD’s knee over and over. He moves away, and demands the referee starts the count.

[DVD finally gets back to his feet, breaking the referee’s cap. Atkins shakes his head as he drops the chair and picks up the sledgehammer. He moves towards Van Dam, wanting to ram the end into Van Dam’s face. Van Dam ducks out of the way though, and hits Atkins with a big low blow. Atkins drops the hammer, and Van Dam grabs it, using it to help himself get to his feet. Atkins is holding onto the rope as Van Dam takes the hammer and tosses it away. He nails Atkins with a hard punch, before taking Atkins, and ramming him face first into the steel. He holds Atkins’ face there, grinding it back and forth against the cage wall. Atkins screams in pain as the flesh is ripped off his face. The blood begins to flow as DVD hobbles away from him, trying to get the feeling back in his leg. Holding onto the top rope, DVD uses his right leg to drive it into Atkins gut. He begins to lift Atkins up but his left leg give out on him, and Atkins come crashing down on Van Dam’s chest. The crowd sighs, they thought the were going to see Van Dam take control back. Atkins pulls himself off of Van Dam, and scowls. Grabbing Van Dam, Atkins pulls him up, then lifts him onto his shoulder. He smirks as he charges forward, ramming DVD face first into the cage. Atkins pulls back, and does it again. Then again… Then again… Then again… Five times total, and Van Dam is gushing blood. Atkins just drops Van Dam, letting his throat crash across the top rope. Van Dam snaps back and gets caught with a Release German Suplex, that causes DVD to land right on his neck. Atkins pops up, smirking as he demands the referee counts.
Bob Fecca: "Atkins really is taking it to Van Dam. I’m impressed."
Eddie Styles: "I’m not, I knew it was coming."

[Van Dam manages to get to his feet, gingerly though, it’s clear he’s favoring his knee. Atkins comes charging out of the corner, holding the hammer up, looking to drive Van Dam’s face right into it. Van Dam manages to duck and spin behind Atkins. Atkins comes to a halt and turns around, only to meet a desperation diving clothesline from Van Dam, sending both men to the mats. They lay there, and Atkins is the first man to his feet. He looks from the sledge to the chair, and decides on the chair this time. He picks it up, and waits as Van Dam stumbles to his feet. Van Dam turns around… BAM! Steel Chair shot right to Van Dam’s bloody face. Van Dam doesn’t fall all the way down though, only to one knee. Atkins shakes his blood-covered head as he bounces off the ropes, and winds up. Instead of hitting Van Dam with the chair, Atkins is caught with a surprise sledgehammer shot to the stomach from a cloudy Van Dam. Atkins didn’t see that one coming, but the wily veteran Van Dam was able to grab the sledgehammer and drive it into Atkins gut. Atkins is doubled over now as Van Dam uses the sledge to help him back to his feet. He hobbles, shaking his knee, trying to forget the pain in it. He pulls the sledgehammer up, and holds it in Triple H fashion. Atkins pushes himself up from his knees, not seeing Van Dam behind him with the hammer. Atkins turns around and catches the sledgehammer right to the side of the head. Atkins crumples immediately from the massive blow, dropping like a sack of rocks. The referee goes to start the count, but Van Dam waves him off. Van Dam’s not through. Gritting his teeth, he pulls Atkins’ limp body off the canvas, and hoists him onto his shoulder. His knee almost buckles, but Van Dam manages to stay standing. Van Dam sets Atkins up on the top rope, nailing him with a few closed fists for good measure. He hobbles over to the steel chair, and sets it up like he was going to sit in it. It’s a good nine or teen feet away from the corner where Atkins is. Van Dam moves back over there, nailing Atkins with a few more hard punches, before climbing up onto the second rope, then the top rope. He pulls Atkins to a standing position on the top rope too, both men bloody. The crowd looks on as Van Dam falls backwards, flipping Atkins over with a Super-Plex, but Atkins lands with the small-of-his-back square on the chair. The crowd chants Holy Shit! Holy Shit!
Bob Fecca: "That could’ve just crippled Jamal Atkins, My God, Eddie Styles, My God."
Eddie Styles: "This isn’t good, Fecca. The chair broke from the impact. Atkins is definitely in bad shape."
[Van Dam pushes himself up to his feet, wobbly, his knee is barely holding together. He leans on the top rope as the referee begins the ten count.

He rolls away from Atkins as he pulls him back up. His knee is barely holding together as he hoists him onto his shoulders… LAST CHANCE! DVD holds his knee in agony as he crawls away from Atkins, motioning for the referee to count it. He does. There’s no movement from Atkins as the referee counts from one to ten. He signals for the bell, as Van Dam leans on the top rope, barely able to stand. The referee moves to the door, taking the PWT People’s title from a ring hand. He brings it back to a bloody Van Dam, handing it to him as he raises Van Dam’s arm.
Sabrina: "Your winner, and NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW People’s Champion, DAVID VAN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!"
Bob Fecca: "An amazing match, an amazing display on both men’s part. Van Dam walks out the winner, but at what price?"
Eddie Styles: "He can barely stand, and he’s still got to go into the Tag Team Title match later tonight."
Bob Fecca: "It’s going to be an interesting situation."
[Van Dam raises the People’s title high above his head as he hobbles to the door, with assistance from the referee. Medical staff come down the ramp to check on Atkins as Caged Combat II cuts to a highlight video from last year’s Caged Combat. |
